| Boston Bruins!!!
My hockey connection - I played hockey in high school and college and had try out for the 88 US Olympic Team. I got injured two weeks before the tryout and never made it. After that I felt the window shut on my thoughts of a hockey career lol. I was also offered a contract with a canadian junior team in the western hockey league called The Kamloops Blazers after high school lol, I think they were in British Columbia or Saskatchewan Canada. I turned that down to go to college. In high school my freshman year we lost the state championship to another team called Acton/Boxboro that had Tom Barasso(Stanley Cup winner Pitt Penguins 90 & 91) as their goalie and a couple of other guys that went to the NHL, I was also a goalie. I decided to give up the road to the NHL and focused on computers in college and made that my career. I actually know Bob Sweeney formerly of the Bruins in the 90's he was on that high school team that beat us with Barasso and later moved to Charlestown where I grew up. Jack O'Callahan from the 80 US Olympic team is also from Charlestown, while a little older than me, I also know him and his family. We used to all play street hockey when I was a kid together in town and skate all the time at the local MDC rink in town. Funny fact too is my wife knows Terry O'Reilly former coach/player from the Bruins, she was a big bruins fan growing up too and he actually used to go to all her birthday parties when she was growing up. A guy I work with plays pickup hockey a couple of times a month currently with the Bruins alumni (mostly old timers from the 70's/80's having a fun skate/game). I actually saw Bobby Orr play in a game at the old Boston Garden lol, I was about 6. I have also met Ray Bourque numerous times and have two autographed jersey's by him. One is pretty weird too, a special jersey put put by CCM when he won the cup with the Avalanche, it is literally half a bruins, half an Avalanche jersey sewn together into one jersey. A pretty unique collectors item, even have a picture of him signing it lol. But alas my hockey blood has been replaced in the last 15 years by football blood lol. I pretty much stopped watching caring about hockey after Cam Kneely/Ray Bourque retired. I can even remember the 90 Patriots going 1-15 lol. But in '93 once the Pats signed Parcells to be the coach I converted to football and gave up on hockey.

| hockey is a great sport..i used to follow it until the strike and then it just kinda started back up and I sort of lost interest since its not on espn much anymore. anyway sorry raptor but i hate the bruins, along with all other massachusett area teams ..they beat out the rangers like 3 straight years for the 7-8th seeds for the playoffs..but anyway hockey is a great sport to play! | |

| Hockey pwns other sports. Live in person hockey is the greatest, the tv doesn't do the sport justice. I love Football too, but the place to watch that is on a bigscreen HD television (you see more of the game than in person, where you don't see shit).
I have played hockey all my life since I was 5 including youth, High School and Juniors. I now play twice a week in a pretty competitive adult league.
btw, the Wild are still unbeaten in non-overtime games this season so far. 7-0-1. They lost one overtime shoot-out.

So true it's not even funny. There's nothing like watching someone make a goal, watching the fans go crazy and having your ears blown out by the foghorn. And don't even get me started when there's a fight! As soon as the gloves and helmets come off, the arena goes crazy! Such an awesome, high energy atmosphere.

I like sitting higher up in the second level, right at center ice. That way you can see both ends of the ice and watch the entire game unfold.
